A Muslim community
cannot flourish without freshness in ideas and renewed thinking about its
youth. A Muslim community will cease to exist in a non-Islamic environment
if education is absent from the lives of the members that make up the community.
Muslims in North America are at a cross roads.
In the last three decades we have witnessed a significant growth in Masajid
and Muslim organizations of various types, whether political, social, or
otherwise. However, there lacks a comprehensive educational program that
would propel the community forward into leadership and out of its malaise,
that caters to not only the youth but to the community of all ages.
The next two decades are important for the Muslims in North America, in
particular the youth. If the youth are given focus, education and trained
Islamically at this juncture, the future of Islam on this continent ought
to be a bright one. If otherwise, we risk sinking even deeper into followers
of the unjust and unwise.
From the days of the Maktab, the Madrasah, and the Jami'ah, the dimensions
of education have changed enormously, and with them the dynamics. Today
we are on the verge of another revolution, no less significant than the
invention of paper and the printing press. The technology of the Internet
is promising to change the face and tempo of learning, to one that has been
ill conceived.
The solution: The Internet Islamic University. It is a timely effort
to serve the needs of the Muslims in tomorrow's world. We invite your attention
to this worthy cause and ask for your moral and material support.
The future is bright for Islam in America, however, the future is here.
The future which we strive for and cultivate will ultimately result in the
securing of our Muslim dreams.
Let's contribute to this project and partake in the shaping of the Muslim's
mind into the leaders of Islam and the exemplars of society that we once
were.
